About visiting the probate court

About visiting the Caddo County Courthouse

The term probate court is a common term loosely referring to the probate division located within a state or county courthouse. In the state of Oklahoma, the District Court is the level of court responsible for overseeing matters related to probate court.

Caddo County Courthouse is listed as a registered probate court within Caddo County, Oklahoma.

In most instances within Oklahoma, there is at least one District Court courthouse location within each county. Sometimes a county may have multiple courthouses and may also have multiple probate court locations. Such is often the case in larger metropolis counties where population is dense or also in spread-out, rural counties, which may use a courthouse annex or satellite office system to accommodate nearby citizens with easier access in proximity or distance.

About visiting the probate court

Who to speak with when visiting the Caddo County probate court

Upon visiting the Caddo County Courthouse, look for signs or directions to the probate division within the main courthouse. Once you’ve located the probate division, make your way to any reception desks and ask to speak with a probate clerk or probate judge. The probate clerk at Caddo County Courthouse may or may not require appointments based upon the busyness of the probate court, so it’s a great idea to call ahead.

Plan ahead to be early in case available parking is limited and be prepared for formal security measures upon entering the building, as courthouses are official state and federal property. This generally includes passing through metal detectors and allowing search of any belongings.

Many courthouses do not allow cell phones, so keep that in mind as your phone may need to be turned off upon entering the courthouse, or even left outside.

I have dealt with the employees in the County Clerk's office on multiple occasions over the past several years and they have been nothing but helpful and courteous. I'm thankful that they've been willing to help with my questions not only in person but also via telephone.

I'm just bringing to light the depths the Caddo County Court Clerks office seems to not meet the needs of a former citizen and total complete unprofessional treatment I received. I have attempted to schedule payment arrangements for fees and fines I owe 6 months ago but was told at that time I had to come in. I couldn't get to the courthouse. So that attempt one to get my fines paid. Today, I called because I want to be done with all of this and was informed I now have a bench warrant because I haven't paid. I attempted to set up payment arrangements again but was told I have to come in to take care of it. I'm not really sure why the courthouse insists on creating an undue burden on someone trying to set up payment arrangements for the second time. They would rather use the citizens money to send the Sheriff to whatever county seed I was pulled over for and arrested because I have a bench warrant so transportation, jail frees, and whatever else comes with bringing a person back on a warrant, caddo county courthouse would rather me lose my job because that's what's gonna happen when I get hauled down there. I do not understand why 6-7 months ago I called to set up these payments they wouldnt send the paperwork by mail as I requested and today getting the same answer but now I was informed I have a warrant. It seems to me if someone wants to make a payment I wouldn't be creating hurdles for one to jump to get this accomplished but serve the community in assisting instead of keeping these Strings in me. I don't get it I'm entitled to this arrangement to meet my financial obligations rather I come to county or not. I don't have probation or parole. Y'all down there in that courthouse have really shown your true colors. You shouldn't treat anyone like that especially when ones freedom is called into question. Shame on you

Again, I just want to point how one specific employee has shown the reason why the word “unprofessional” was invented if you will. It’s no secret in that office whom the employee is because they have to be completely ashamed to see her interactions with citizens of caddo county is so unreal and the fact patty barger allows it to occur is unreal. Anadarkions dont act like that. I’m was fortunate enough to be able to get my fines taken care of without there payment arrangements i was refused to set up but Freddy flinstone isn’t paying fines anymore so why don’t you get with the times and get you a credit card machine you would think as disrespectful as y’all get over getting what is owed to you that there would be multiple avenues to pay them. Good luck to anyone dealing with this office. If this is how anadarko wants to be treated keep the current clerk but it’s out with the old and in with the new.

This is the worst place ever! I filed a police report month's ago and every time I call to see if they have arrested the person they can never find the report and ask if I am sure I filed one wich makes me believe that my papers where just thrown away and I drove a hour all the way down there!
