About visiting the probate court

Who to speak with when visiting the Los Angeles County probate court

Upon visiting the Los Angeles Superior Court, Central Civil West Courthouse, look for signs or directions to the probate division within the main courthouse. Once you’ve located the probate division, make your way to any reception desks and ask to speak with a probate clerk or probate judge. The probate clerk at Los Angeles Superior Court, Central Civil West Courthouse may or may not require appointments based upon the busyness of the probate court, so it’s a great idea to call ahead.

Plan ahead to be early in case available parking is limited and be prepared for formal security measures upon entering the building, as courthouses are official state and federal property. This generally includes passing through metal detectors and allowing search of any belongings.

Many courthouses do not allow cell phones, so keep that in mind as your phone may need to be turned off upon entering the courthouse, or even left outside.

Regarding Underground Parking: I asked an unfamiliar valet if I could park my car in an available spot on the valet parking side. I was transporting client files and didn't feel completely comfortable with the team moving my car often while I was in a staff meeting upstairs. There was going to be a wait for a self-parking space. It hadn't been a problem to do this before. The valet told me to give him my key or get out. A colleague once suggested that I ask to see a permit or license if I felt a valet ever became demanding. So, I asked. The valet wouldn't show either and said he was part of a company contract. He told me to get out. I pulled to the self-parking side to wait for a visitor to leave. There was no line behind me. He came to my car, instructed me to roll down my window, snatched the parking ticket from my hand and walked to the exit to open the gate. It was aggressive and discourteous. Be prepared for a challenge with parking staff. Do not assume valets have licenses. It's OK to park in front of the church north of the court building at no cost.

My review is based on the falsification and the wrong interpretation of folks. Family Law CCW Supervisor Lindsey Thanayi, Family Law Attorney title. Hum.... But working as a site Supervisor for the Family Law Facilitators Office. BE BLESSED ! I met with her and she seemed to be a nice lady who sale false dreams, yet a bit unprofessional for her so called title. She is an indecisive fake and what I do not understand is why in the black community Its our own people who try to hold us back. (BLACK WOMEN) I do not believe this is the kind of folks that our children in our community could look up to. Lies, Jealousy, and Envy leads you no where but right where you are with a JD Degree. I am entrepreneur minded and with a JD Degree I would definitely have my own practice what a waste. Sad dark environment. Good THING she changed her mind last minute. God Save Me from the woof in sheep clothing...
