A non-binding process to attempt to resolve conflict between two parties. Executors will encounter family disputes in the estate administration process and if a resolution is not reached then mediation is a potential option. Mediation is a collaborative approach that is considered to be assisted negotiation. The mediator leads the process and seeks to reach an agreement or reconciliation between two parties. For estate administration, this often results from disputes over "who gets what" and any perceived issues or uneven distribution that differ from the wishes of the last will and testament.
