A lady notified court of landlord attempting to evict before 30 day notice was provided and retaliation efforts was told eviction filings cannot be stopped. The eviction desk representative stated “Anyone can file an eviction on your name because a case number is needed . The only other way is to file a claim for $6,000 or $15,000 against the party retaliating, use drop off box or mail and add appropriate forms with filing fee” Eviction filings alone hurt housing search and the young lady does not have a NON PAYMENT OF RENT issue, her rent was paid, never late and in advance. The slumlord and property management are retaliating because she complained to governmental agencies and CITY CODE VIOLATIONS exist. There is no rent to pay into escrow as her rent is paid through the lease. The eviction desk rep said, there is no way to notify the court in advance of this wrongdoing. Interesting! Guess the girl who pays her rent on time, never late who exercised tenant right and demanded landlord uphold his duty under ORC 5321.04 really doesn’t have protections from retaliation like they claim, huh? Shame. Good information provided from the court yet shocking
Had to call the Clerk of Court's office X 2 over past 10 years. Once in 2012 and once recently. On both occasions I was treated professionally and given good advice. The first occasion was w/ Ms. O"Shaughnessy herself and the second was her assistant Valerie. Keep up the good work.
I spoke with someone from the County Clerk's office on the phone today about getting an out-of-state title transfer. I was told to call this office by my lien holder to go about the process of getting the correct paperwork completed. I do not know who I spoke with, but this man was unbelievably rude and condescending. He laughed at me and told me that I "wasn't using the proper terms to explain what I need" and that I "obviously don't know what I am talking about". I calmly told him that I was just repeating what was explained to me by my lien holder. I never write negative reviews and try to give people the benefit of the doubt but this was just beyond anything I have experienced before. He talked to me like a child the rest of the phone call. I hope no one else has this experience but wanted to make it known that this happened.
Lack of Saturday hours at ANY location is archaic and laughable. If you don't have the leisure to take time off for them, try Pickerington (Fairfield County) or Delaware.
If an appointment is needed, this should be made more publicly known. I wasted an hour driving to and from a title agency to transfer a title only to be told by the worker outside that I needed an appointment and they were all full today. I can’t get in for two days. I was turned away with others who also had no idea. This is not right. It’s already a struggle to find time to do things like this and I’ll still have to go wait in another line for the license plates once the title is processed. Have more respect for our time! There’s no reason you can’t run a PSA on the radio or something. If you’ve transferred title before you don’t need to look at the website. And btw, if masks work, why do we also need to socially distance door much that we can’t have a line at the title agency when next door the BMV line is down the sidewalk?
