About visiting the probate court

Who to speak with when visiting the Cullman County probate court

Upon visiting the Cullman County Circuit Court, look for signs or directions to the probate division within the main courthouse. Once you’ve located the probate division, make your way to any reception desks and ask to speak with a probate clerk or probate judge. The probate clerk at Cullman County Circuit Court may or may not require appointments based upon the busyness of the probate court, so it’s a great idea to call ahead.

Plan ahead to be early in case available parking is limited and be prepared for formal security measures upon entering the building, as courthouses are official state and federal property. This generally includes passing through metal detectors and allowing search of any belongings.

Many courthouses do not allow cell phones, so keep that in mind as your phone may need to be turned off upon entering the courthouse, or even left outside.

Disgusting. 24 misdemeanor traffic violation. A relative and I were stopped and both given a small charge after a harassing and terrifying routine traffic stop in which an officer mentioned we needed to get some new tags but if we cooperate we move on through. Nope. Jail. Okay fast forward. In the jail we were in a room with 10 or so people despite there being open hold rooms. No jail is clean but none this disgusting. So Cullman already sounds awful considering I get pulled over anytime I look at it. I've been there... twice in 2 years? Called the clerk and she is the only person of any logic or true authority. Prosecutor told me to sit down shut up while I had been told by the clerk to ask if my name had been called when I called the second they opened at 8 to say I'd be there only a few mins late... there were hundreds... clerk mentioned they did alphabetical even a last name toward the end of that spectrum would be welcome. Nope. Sat there from 8 30 to 12 with a hired driver... whom I paid alot of money to get me the nearly 200 mile trip. Noone in the court room would even look to see if my name had been called...? I just needed a continuance? No regard to an individual's work or authority in their own life. As always Oppression is not a man or woman thing, one color, one race thing. Oppression can be towards anyone and admittingly there were people of all ages in that court room but not a single black man one... but I think Frederick Douglas said it best.... the limits of tyrants are prescribed the endurance of those who they oppress. Bunch of insuperior insignificant little ants. Don't want to talk to people respect Mr... Suit? Okay speak to my attorney. ANYONE WHO GETS ANY CHARGE FROM THIS VISITING FROM ANOTHER TOWN EVEN IF FOR FAMILY OR IF CLOSE... TRANSFER back to Jefferson. Get an attorney. Private. Go out of cullman to get it.

I was told by a court appointed attorney in a juvenile court in cullman county truancy case that I needed to plead guilty Bc if I tried the state i would serve my whole 12 month sentence . I’ve been arrested on warrants not cleared .. I’ve been talked to like a dog by assistant DA , J.H.Roberts . When / before he knew a darn thing about my case .. and I mean he didn’t even have the decency to ask me any questions , let alone wait for answers ... Here in this courthouse , you are lucky if allowed a chance to defend yourself at all in court ... even with a “ court appointed attorney “ Mine literally didn’t speak at the bench ... he did before we approached it ... when telling me to plead guilty .... Then when I had another court date , the judge admittedly couldn’t pull up all the details of my case on the computer in front of him, and it was as if any and all progress / “ deals”/ agreements that had been made within my case never existed and it was disastrous for me personally ... it seemed to the judge ( without notes in front of him ) that is was just a totally disrespectful person with disregard to court dates, his instruction and so on. . I had written letters to him and sent other pertinent documents over time (this has been a long and ongoing matter ... over a year and a half now and still ongoing currently ) My charge is Contributing to truancy I remind you again , and ongoing since the 2016-2017 academic year , since my son was in 10th grade ..and he is about to graduate , here in this 2018-2019 academic year. My son wants to quit school during his senior year this year because of this . He wants to quit so that no absence , or confusion about such can possibly result in my incarceration in any kind of way like this ever again. No thanks , I’ll take the risk mr. Roberts !! Keep in mind also , I have 2 children, only one is truant . The one on whose attendance report alternative school days and suspended days were counted as unexcused absences , for a total of over 10 days... My court appointed attorney however didn’t think it was worth opening my mouth about ... ANYWAY , My complaint however isn’t with the judge it’s with Mr. Roberts , the assistant DA who jumped down my throat from the moment he called my name and called me to his side table on my first court date in the summer of 2017. He ( tried to) publicly humliate me ( I guess that was his goal ) by yelling out loud “ all i know is you are a bad mother and you don’t send your kids to school !!” All I said was “ plead my case I guess sir , Bc all of these unexcused absences counted against my son aren’t correct .... there were 9 days of alternative school and 4 days of suspension ...” , when he asked me, “How would you like to settle this?” I guess In Cullman County , if the assistant DA DOESNT INTIMITDATE YOU INTO PLEADING GUILTY BY PERSONAL, PUBLIC COURTROOM ATTACKS .. THEN ITS UP TO THE COURT APPOINTED ATTORNEYS TO TELL WITHIN A MINUTE or TWO BEFORE YOU ARE CALLED BY THE JUDGE TO PLEAD.. at least that’s how it worked for me! Darned if i do darned If i don’t I’ve been told “ it’s not us.., it’s the DA that has it out for you !” Oh yeah and that’s leaving out the FTA I got due to the wrong court date being given to me .... And not only me .... I can’t tell you how many other people I know first hand and have witnessed get FTA by the same fashion And I can’t verify .., but If all the others ( in jail and on the street ) who SAY they got an FTA in cullman co. Bc they were given the wrong court date are all telling the truth ..., and are all correct in what they say. .....THEN CULLMAN COUNTY IS BUILT ON WRONG COURT DATES ... Do these people not take an oath ?
