Plan ahead to be early in case available parking is limited and be prepared for formal security measures upon entering the building, as courthouses are official state and federal property. This generally includes passing through metal detectors and allowing search of any belongings.
Many courthouses do not allow cell phones, so keep that in mind as your phone may need to be turned off upon entering the courthouse, or even left outside.

Reviews of the La Crosse County Courthouse
Its all about how much money they can get. You're just a case number. "Most" staff there are not helpful and they're quick to transfer you over the phone to a voicemail or direct you to their website.
I recently got into some legal trouble in both Minnesota and Wisconsin I'm not proud of it by any means in fact quite horrified with what I'm goin through right now most of it has been in Minnesota. But today I got to witness Wisconsin's justice system and I cannot believe I'm absolutely shocked by the difference in the treatment of people. I wish I could give a hug kurt stars to Wisconsin and the people at the La Crosse County Courthouse. Here in lacrosse they obviously believe in treating people with common human dignity. Well in court with the Honorable Judge Levine overseeing court proceedings. I got to absorb how quickly and efficiently he in the people that work with him. Through their agenda for the day. But what was most impressive was to see the people that were in shackles and county jail attire. Those people that have been ordered to be released by the judge not more than 20 minutes later as I was leaving the building we're on the street in street clothes and free to go as it should be if you're free to go you should be free to go. In Minnesota I was recently one of those in County jail attire going before the judge. I apologize I don't remember her name but she was quite efficient ineffective in her processing also but the overwhelmingly huge difference was that in Minnesota I was released without bail on my own recognizance. I had to go back to my cell wondering if I'd actually been released in some 5 hours later and probably is ours were the processing watching deputies joke and giggle and in no hurry whatsoever to get you out of there infect heard em say if you don't like it we can make it last longer. The feeling of distain coming from the jailers in total disregard for basic humanitarian respect. SOIC props to Wisconsin judge Levine in La Crosse County Courthouse. for the feeling that you abide by the constitutional rights of anyone to be presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond the shadow of a doubt in Minnesota you should be ashamed of yourself but you're not even willing to provide the cornerstone of human rights spelled out specifically in our Constitution . to treat people the way you do shame on you start looking to Wisconsin they have a bunch of things they could teach you. and thank you once again cuz Lavigne will lacrosse County Courthouse for making it most embarrassing, disheartening and difficult situations much more bearable than your MN counterparts.
