Although helpful with providing some information, otherwise was extremely rude and hurried me off the phone.

One star just to comment. Wouldn't give it that. I understand courts have processes but uhm they need to step their processes and paper work up. Their fault dropping the ball, NOT MINE!!!!!!!! Glad some progress was made. Has no choice but to be! The whole set up with the old man handling my paperwork to the obese bailiff men made me feel as though this was another run around, thankfully I will run around for my children any day of the week!!!!! My case will be resolved inevitably and indefinitely!!!!! Richland County gets one star too, as previously stated just for me to comment ✅

Went to file name change paper work. Found out I didnt have everything I needed. Clerk refused to tell me where to go or what I needed to do to get the papers I needed. She said legally I cant say, it's our big neighbor county. She kept saying our big neighbor county to every question. She wouldn't even answer if the current papers I had printed off the internet would be accepted. So i call Richland clerk of court and they answered every question I had no problem with it being Lexington county. So, I go back to Lex clerk of court and the new lady tells me to cross out Richland and write in Lexington on all the forms. Talk about some hood looking papers. She was very nice and helped me complete the process. Why in world do I have to go to Richland clerk of court to get legal papers to use in Lexington?????

Having served jury duty just 6 months ago with the Town of Lexington, I feel the need to distinguish between the 2 court systems. The Town of Lexington clearly values and respects the time they take away from the general public when they require us to serve jury duty as the process went flawlessly (Lexington County, you may want to send your employees over there to observe their system). The experience with Lexington County has been nothing but disrespectful to its citizens who have been called to serve on jury duty and I can only assume that this trickles down through the rest of Lexington County’s court system. Upon receiving my summons for jury duty I followed all the instructions that accompanied it (see attached summons – public record). I attempted to follow item #3 as it was listed and called the phone number only to be read the previous week’s jury recording, so had literally no useful information. I then attempted to follow the provided website, which was even worse (see attached screen shots) and was provided jury information from way back in June 2018…it is currently 11/5/18. I notified the courts of this upon my arrival this morning to jury duty as I was being checked in and they seemed completely unconcerned for my frustration, again showing complete lack of respect for the jurors. Then, after we have been waiting in the courtroom for 1 hour staring at the wall, an announcement is made to please make sure your cell phones are turned off or on silent/vibrate. I was unaware we could have cell phones, as again, on the jury summons it clearly states that they WILL NOT BE ALLOWED in the courtroom (see attached summons – highlighted area). If this is no longer the case, please update your summons letter. I was bored out of my mind and could have happily been reading the news if I had had my cell phone handy. Lastly, the judge makes a statement as we leave to check the SAME phone number listed on our summons, that is listed on our little blue juror card after 6pm tonight to see if we should be present in court tomorrow. It should not have surprised me at this point when I called the number at 6:30pm and found still the same recording saying today is October 22nd… So yet again, Lexington County literally has left us with no idea if we should be in court tomorrow, they are completely disrespectful that we have jobs that we are supposed to be at and don’t care that many of us support ourselves and are dependent upon whether or not we go to work or court the next day. I’m extremely disappointed that my tax dollars are going to a court system that can’t get something simple addressed. Especially when I told you this morning that it was an issue. You would have thought that you would have made an attempt to troubleshoot it and make sure it was actually working before you left YOUR job tonight.
