About visiting the probate court

Who to speak with when visiting the Kittitas County probate court

Upon visiting the Lower Kittitas County District Court, look for signs or directions to the probate division within the main courthouse. Once you’ve located the probate division, make your way to any reception desks and ask to speak with a probate clerk or probate judge. The probate clerk at Lower Kittitas County District Court may or may not require appointments based upon the busyness of the probate court, so it’s a great idea to call ahead.

Plan ahead to be early in case available parking is limited and be prepared for formal security measures upon entering the building, as courthouses are official state and federal property. This generally includes passing through metal detectors and allowing search of any belongings.

Many courthouses do not allow cell phones, so keep that in mind as your phone may need to be turned off upon entering the courthouse, or even left outside.

Completely dishonest and corrupt court and officers in this area! I’ve always had respect for officers for keeping people safe but I’m really starting to lose that now as I find out how dishonest so many of them can be. I was pulled over by Michael Hauser July 2020 for going 83 in a 70 on I-90 E. He claimed in the police report that we were the only car approaching although that is completely false! There were several cars passing me left and right. I was traveling with my mother and she agreed that there was no way we were speeding. Believe me, she would be the first to be on the officers side had I actually been speeding. My car has trouble even getting up to 80. A lot of other people have reported they were pulled over and cited for the same exact speed which is oddly suspicious. I have a completely clean driving record, have not ever been pulled over before this. With everything I do in life, I keep safety as a top priority. I decided to go through with a contested hearing because I felt I had a lot to say about the fact there was no way I was speeding. This was all during the statewide mask mandate due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The officer also did NOT wear a mask as he was within less than 6 feet of my mother and myself and leaned into our car. Whether you believe in the seriousness of this pandemic or not, It’s still a requirement. Many people look up to officers for following all laws and keeping people safe. Him not wearing a mask shows complete lack of respect for his job, the city council, the government, and our health and safety. This specific officer has also been awarded several times over the past couple years for leading in his detachment’s speeding infractions. All of this makes it seems as though this officer is all about meeting/going above his quota even if that means being dishonest. But of course nothing ever happens to them for being dishonest. The judges just have to believe that their reports are 100% true.

My first time in court...the wheelchair elevator was a little bit unsteady/seemed like it had huge potential to be dangerous. I was treated respectfully and fairly. Court was running a bit late though.

I have never written a review but I had to with this one. My husband got a speeding ticket in June 2019 for $250. We mitigated it never heard back. We called 5+ times and each time they said that we would get the mitigation results via email. We never got an email and now (March 2020) they sent us a letter in the mail stating that his license was going to be suspended because we never paid the ticket. I called and said we never got anything and the proceeded to tell us that it was lowered to $150, but now that we are late we owe $210. I told them we never got an email and they said it was probably sent to spam. We called since the date of the supposed email (October) and they said it would be emailed and it has not been with yet. Horrible communication.

Passing through town several months ago, going 75 in a 70. I had my cruise control on and going 70, but was going 75 to pass a semi truck that was throwing rocks and chipped my windshield. Cop pulls me over claiming I was going 83 in a 70. I have a perfect record, yet the cop LOGAN SWIFT disregarded everything I said. Now my perfect record is tainted for SEVEN years because of the lieing cop, in a small town that writes up everyone for everything they can😠 Good luck appealing anything if you're also wrongfully accused of anything!
