About visiting the probate court

Who to speak with when visiting the Ottawa County probate court

Upon visiting the Ottawa County 58th District Court - Grand Haven Location, look for signs or directions to the probate division within the main courthouse. Once you’ve located the probate division, make your way to any reception desks and ask to speak with a probate clerk or probate judge. Many courthouses do not allow cell phones, so keep that in mind as your phone may need to be turned off upon entering the courthouse, or even left outside.

Everyone is so rude and disrespectful. Especially the people who are there right when you walk in to check your things. You don’t want to be there in the first place why do they have to be so rude about it. The probation officers act the same. I’ve finally met someone that I love and is super respectful sadly he is not one of the probation officers that you would get on colors ect. Stay clear if you can.

This place will metaphorically strip you down, stick an I.V. in your arm, and drain you of both your livelihood and dignity. Their slogan is "Making a difference" but what they don't tell you is that its not going to be a positive one. This govt building is deplorable. The work being done inside is insidious.

Just keep hoping you never have any reason to step foot in the Ottawa County Court House. If you are unfortunate enough to get here you better brace yourself for some serious disrespect AND you better bring your money!

The two chunky dudes who run the front counter should try moonlighting at McDonalds. Maybe someone there could teach them a thing or two about respect and customer service. You are an employee in this building and you are representing it very poorly. If Ottawa County had other options for marriage certificates I would never set foot in this rude, hate-filled place.
