Who to speak with when visiting the Sandoval County probate court
Plan ahead to be early in case available parking is limited and be prepared for formal security measures upon entering the building, as courthouses are official state and federal property. This generally includes passing through metal detectors and allowing search of any belongings.
Many courthouses do not allow cell phones, so keep that in mind as your phone may need to be turned off upon entering the courthouse, or even left outside.

for a courthouse and being a place that is paid by the state, this place is very bad at their job! I got a speeding ticket about five months ago and just received the letter in the mail for my hearing, which has already passed! so I now have a warrant out for my arrest when the people running this whole system or not doing their jobs correctly! i’ve been trying to call the front desk for two days now and I get no answer every single time! this place really needs to step up or needs new people working there they really don’t know what they’re doing and it’s making the whole community upset not just myself this is one of the reasons why people are so upset with the system and how things are going, they’re not being run right at all nowhere close to it.
I had a citation for getting pulled with my lights off and couldn't provide insurance, so I got a citation. OK. This was before COVID. My court date was cancelled and my charges were dismissed. So months later you'll understand my confusion hearing my license got suspended for not appearing in court. I then received later, MY COURT SUMMONS. Not only did part of my citation get processed to Las Cruces Magistrate for some unknown reason, but my court order came in the mail AFTER my court date. Now my license is suspended and I can't seem to get a hold of the front desk. I would recommend moving as far from this place as possible if you actually want to practice your right to due processing.
The police officer at the front this Monday 8/10/20 said records for court cases was closed when they were open. Had to ask why she gave me police record info when I asked for court and was told by the clerk to drive down. She was on her cell phone and kept asking me covid questions when I had said all no to them, wasn't paying attention. Was on cell phone. Wow. Go home lady. Got to see court clerk finally and they were more then helpful and able. Unlike this female cop working that day.
Officer told me I don’t have to pay for DI school when I got my citation. Now all of a sudden it’s $150. I am no expert but I am pretty sure that I can get you guys in a lot of legal trouble. It is disappointing to see how quick the Rio Rancho police department will ticket someone even if nothing was done terribly wrong. The police department is supposed to protect the public not be an inconvenience. Get rid of ticketing quotas.
