About visiting the probate court

About visiting the Superior Court of Ventura County

The term probate court is a common term loosely referring to the probate division located within a state or county courthouse. In the state of California, the Superior Court is the level of court responsible for overseeing matters related to probate court.

Superior Court of Ventura County is listed as a registered probate court within Ventura County, California.

In most instances within California, there is at least one Superior Court courthouse location within each county. Sometimes a county may have multiple courthouses and may also have multiple probate court locations. Such is often the case in larger metropolis counties where population is dense or also in spread-out, rural counties, which may use a courthouse annex or satellite office system to accommodate nearby citizens with easier access in proximity or distance.

About visiting the probate court

Who to speak with when visiting the Ventura County probate court

Upon visiting the Superior Court of Ventura County, look for signs or directions to the probate division within the main courthouse. Once you’ve located the probate division, make your way to any reception desks and ask to speak with a probate clerk or probate judge. The probate clerk at Superior Court of Ventura County may or may not require appointments based upon the busyness of the probate court, so it’s a great idea to call ahead.

Plan ahead to be early in case available parking is limited and be prepared for formal security measures upon entering the building, as courthouses are official state and federal property. This generally includes passing through metal detectors and allowing search of any belongings.

Many courthouses do not allow cell phones, so keep that in mind as your phone may need to be turned off upon entering the courthouse, or even left outside.

The Ventura County Family Courts don’t care about the child’s best interest. They just want to cut the child in half between the two parents, like the story of the two mothers and King Solomon. This is not just my opinion. I have talked to more than a dozen people that have experienced the same results that I have seen. One 2-year-old little girl was divided in a 2-2-3 fashion. She lives 50% of the time with the mother and the other 50% of the time with the father and his three 20-year-old men roommates. This is a recipe for disaster! Another mother that I know has to drive 200 miles twice a week to get her son from his father. A third mom told me that she had to drive to another state every week to collect or return her children from their father on a week-on/week-off visitation schedule. I have also talked with a lady who worked with the court system for almost 9 years and finally quit because she saw the horrible decisions the judges made and just got sick of it! I believe the courts need to start thinking about the child first. Young children should not be shuffled back and forth like a yo-yo. There should always be a primary parent with visitation (when appropriate) for the other parent. Children need stability and the Ventura County Courts think that as long as the parents have equal time, it must be okay. This is so wrong! The rating of one star is too high for the Family Courts. It’s too bad that there isn’t an option for negative stars.

Like alot of people I felt unherd . I felt like I was judged by how I look. I put all my faith in the vc courts in my family court case. The judge cared. He made ruling based on facts. And was very fair in how he conducted his courtroom. He shared wisdom during his ruling that i will forever remember and apply to my life. I never thought I would be leaving a review for a courthouse. But today my life changed and if anyone out there is worried they won't be herd like I was. I hope you know this won't be the case. Be calm. Be honest. Talk slow so the court reporter can type and you will be good. They are the best court I ever dealt with. I hope to never go back there again.

Horrid customer service. Listen, I understand they've got quotas to fill and don't have time to answer the questions of the hordes of people flowing through on a daily basis. But at the very least, treat people respectfully. Virtually every staff member was condescending and dismissive of any person who had a question or stepped out of line in any regard. I cannot believe the level of toxicity these people have.

Horrible system 5 years ago my ex divorced me. We have two kids and at the time of divorce I made some bad choices. Witch I suffered the consequences the lady that did mediation made sure of that. After doing all I could to change my ways including. Alcohol and drug classes, parenting classes, I changed my life 100% I’m a completely different person now. I went back to try and get more time with our kids. The same mediator who looked at me like the same garbage she presumed me to be. I brought so much proof pertaining to my new life long changes. Character letters and all. The system just took more time from me. Ventura court is not a court of justice. They only care about money. I’m praying this one day will change. Need God back into our court system.
