I am still not sure I am getting the right information from this office especially given another review who said they received bad information and had to try to get their will back. Not only that when I called to talk to the actual clerk the wills division found out I was calling and called me back. The woman I dealt with at the counter then referred to herself in the third person saying “she did the right thing”. When I questioned if she was the person I spoke to at the counter she admitted it was her. So instead of saying “I did the right thing” she tried to pass herself off as the clerk’s assistant by using the word “she”. Now I feel like I have to verify everything the department tells me and I’m very hesitant about giving them the original will.
Its 2018 and they still do NOT take credit cards .. No way to pay by phone or online. Yet they want as much money as possible. Update your policy and get online.
Be careful the information I was given about wills for NC was completely wrong. I questioned the clerk carefully but she gave me erroneous information and now I have to get my will back!
