Who to speak with when visiting the Scott County probate court
Plan ahead to be early in case available parking is limited and be prepared for formal security measures upon entering the building, as courthouses are official state and federal property. This generally includes passing through metal detectors and allowing search of any belongings.

Reviews of the Scott County Court Administration
I went there a couple years ago with the intent of obtaining my parents’ divorce statements; as I am going through this very sad process in my life, by getting those papers, it would have answered a lot of questions for me that I am still suffering with today..but the woman at the front desk of the records department was MIND BLOWINGINGLY rude to me as I am innocently and directionlessly trying to figure out how to ask for these papers. I attempted at the self serve machine,no idea what I’m doing, I ask that it’s not working, can SOMEONE, it didn’t even have to be her, I’d rather it wasn’t-could help me,please. And she let’s out all of this exasperation as she snaps at me..like I was some major inconvenience or not worthy of getting any kind of service...a burden or pest. She left from behind the glass and storms by me to the machine and directs me a little, but in no way cared about what I was looking for and trying to finally get. I found records but it wasn’t at all what I was looking for. I dared not to ask her again though, I’ll take my chances and come back on a day that she isn’t working. Still haven’t gone back. It has made this life journey that much more difficult. The rest of the the staff/officers were humanly friendly but that one woman has some issues and should maybe reconsider her line of work. Just speaking truthfully. It’s too bad that her less than poor service reflects to the rating of the review. I hope to come back one day. This time I’m bringing my husband with.
Voice mail messages are not returned. I call throughout the day hoping someone will pick up the phone.. but sadly no one does.
Best child protection people! I can't thank them enough for all they have done for our family!
Date of Visit: 9/21/18 approx. 8AM - We visited the courthouse to apply for a marriage license. We arrived shortly after they opened, walked to customer service and was seen immediately (NO LINES!). The clerk was pleasant, nice, and cracked a few jokes with us. I have always driven from Shakopee to Prior Lake to renew my Driver's License, but now I know that the Shakopee Courthouse makes it quick and easy! Will definitely renew here from now on.
Racketeers is what they are, extortion is the game. A system where I have to go to court to resolve a small no seat belt ticket. It's crazy I'm forced to pay $118 for no seat belt ticket. So it's for my safety or for the city to get money. Think about it if you never pay that ticket they will mess your life up. Over $118 that they want from you just because. How is this a crime no party is effected by this. I always wanted to live in a free country that's all I want in my American dream. I guess I will just keep dreaming. What do they do with all this money they make? Does it really help us? Want to learn how to successfully run an organized crime sindicit? Study government... on top of that the mafia muscle (state trooper) told me don't worry it's only $25 ticket. $25 my butt this ish is too expensive yet too cheap for me to miss a work day. The way they make money is the only thing they can get right.
