Amazed phones are not allowed at all. I can understand inside the courtrooms, but for most other offices, just ridiculous. Why are you afraid of cell phones? Not doing your job properly?

CARROL COUNTY PROSECUTION. Charge THE MAJORITY OF CDL HOLDERS THE MAXIMUM FINE ONLY OVER 1000.00 TO PLEA FOR A NON MOVING VIOLATION. MONEY REVENUE. FOR EXAMPLE YOU WILL PAY 1500.00 FOR A non-moving violation such as a LOUD MUFFLER. REGULAR DRIVER CLASS C drivers should be assessed the same fee. CDL HOLDERS WITH AN EXCELLENT DRIVER'S RECORD ARE ASSESSED A STAGGERING ALMOST $2000.00 FOR FAILURE TO STOP OR SEAT BELT FINE. ITS WRONG, ABUSIVE AND UNJUST. EACH CASE SHOULD BE JUDGED INDIVIDUALLY ESPECIALLY THOSE WHO ARE NOT FREQUENT OFFENDERS. THE FINE DOES NOT FIT THE CRIME! This is what happens after serving your country!

The absolute worst. I drove my family to Florida from Michigan. We stayed in Macon, GA after driving 16 hours and my kids are 1 and 3. We all didn't get more than 2 hours of sleep. It was a nightmare of a night. I was caught speeding early that next morning, and I was truthful about not looking down at my speed for awhile and didn't realize how fast I was going. My ticket was $530!!!! But that's not where I have a problem. The officer says you need to go to this website on the ticket (he circles it) and ask for a reduction of the fine since it will be a big one. I go to the site to ask for a reduction, and write a nice letter about how we like driving through Georgia on our way to Florida. I get an e-mail back 2 weeks later saying I now owe AN EXTRA $200 now a COMBINED $730. The woman at Cook County tells me they don't reduce fines so it was a miscommunication between me and the officer. No, it was a point blank understanding. This officer was straightforward about it and even circled it and said "a reduction for the fine". Now, because I listened to his advice I pay an extra $200 in "Court Costs". How ridiculous is this? On top of that, he wrote me for a 94 in a 70, and in section 2 of the ticket he classifies it for 26-35 mph over which is wrong - - - it's 24mph over (94-70). The woman on the phone tells me the classification doesn't determine the fine (okay? the ticket is still flawed). Either way, asking for a reduction will ONLY make costs go up. This is the lesson here, and also don't listen to any Cook County cops. Don't ask for a reduction, and don't listen to the cops there. Yes, I was in the wrong for speeding, but like my fellow friends that are cops here in Michigan, it happens! I admitted I was wrong for speeding, but was shown no leniency despite my record. Things are screwed up in Georgia with the outrageous costs by their government. We will be indeed flying next time, you won't get any of my tourist money this time. - From a hard working family in Michigan.

If I could I would give no stars .. They are no helpful, rude, when you do get help they transfer you to a department that does not have anything to do with your case they give you wrong . numbers. They dont answer the phone.. How is any one during pandimic even outside of state is suppose to get assistance... When doing efile you get a response from the efile for date of court room judge time but no number or link..

I've been here and through due process here. They are pretty fair, do what you're supposed to.

Staff were over entitled.got a real " I'm better than you" feel from everyone who works there. Rude . They straight up lied to me ,and when I corrected them, they attempted hold me unlawfully . Until my lawyer showed up that is.

Nobody knows anything, especially the soft and tubby folks who work on the first floor. They tell you one thing over the phone and then entirely something else after you've waited at least one hour before your number is called. I would also like to have a soft and cushy job where I can contribute to the demise of the lower class that ultimately pays my salary through taxes as I screw them over harder each time. Where do I apply?

We had a pre-trial meeting with a Judge and the lawyers. We were impressed with the professionalism of the Judge. The Judge was courteous and polite. The court house itself was well organized. There are plenty of signs stating what can not be brought into the building. There were even lockers for contraband like cell phones.

Beautiful building. It's nice to see and hear the clocktower working again. The courthouse employees are knowledgeable, helpful, and courteous. I would give it a five star rating if the front entrance was once again useable. For now, only the back entrance is open to the public. There are some older style military guns located on the front (east side) of the building.

The judges here are very strict and the public defenders are in with them so if you want a fair trial this is not the place to have one

Just walking around and took al look at the cool building and statue in front.

Pretty good building but I ended up getting a bill from Otis Elevators after my visit. Supposedly I had pressed multiple buttons, hooted, hollered, and went buck wild.

The architects who designed this court house, obviously did not go to school. What an un-navigable monstrosity. Up and down and over and out. We're they drunk or who did they pay off? I have heard they did. ,

Beautiful courthouse building and architecture. There are also some neat statues on the property, one being of Lincoln.

Parking is terrible - be certain to arrive extremely early if you have business at the Courthouse.

I have had full custody of my great grandson since he wa 2years old and his mother was killed, and Iwould liketo knowwhatI need to do to legally adopt him now?

Missed hearing due to Jeff Alford quit working for me, then get paperwork from Sandra Reipe telling me i have to be in civil courthouse at 8 to see judge, then her come tell me i don't have to be there??? Jeff's never did civil he told me he was in Livingston civil court to. I guess my wife did accuse me of something, I ask what was on his computer screen after illegally talking to spouse broke my CONFIDENTIALITY

This courthouse is still in the BC era... before cell phones. Strictly prohibited and confiscated. So, if all your data and information is on your phone, you’re out of luck. Can’t imagine how attorneys operate in this environment. They probably have professional courtesy. Tough luck if you’re a mere citizen.

This has got to be the most backwards county court in the United States. Apparently, they'll let anyone with a second grade reading level work within the judicial system. If you can avoid handling anything legal outside of Moultrie county, do so.

Great place for bad times. Easy to find court rooms. Very honorable judges. And if around lunch time food selection outside is wonderful. Im over here trying togo back to court.

I always enjoy stumbling upon unique, historic buildings when I’m out tooling around the countryside. This courthouse definitely qualifies as both.

Why does the courthouse do whatever they want to and discriminate people.. Over the true facts that's because the state get s paid to lie about what the true facts are

Always been extremely helpful, and willing to work with you if your are showing you are trying to change. Very thank for Alicia. She is amazing and always dressed to impress!! The State Troopers are welcoming and very easy to talk to. They have always been willing to answer questions. The bailiffs make sure to say your name at least 3 times. Even had one come over and offer me Chocolate 😂. I am beyond words at how they all pulled together and went above and beyond the call of duty to help me when I was unable to express what I was going through. My advice, be honest and polite. They are willing to help if you ask for it. Thank you to all of you who helped me in my many times of need. God bless may God be with all of you, and continue to work his magic while you serve our beautiful county. 🙏🇺🇲🍀

Never answer the phone, I live out of state and have a court date on the day all of southeast Missouri has an ice storm and can’t get a hold of anyone to save my life. I’m going to get arrested as soon as I step foot over state lines because nobody can answer a phone

I had a warrant for a CGH medical bill. I missed a court date that I didn’t get in the mail or anything. I think I got my next court date on some RRCA card and lost it or forgot it about it once, out of the 30 times I had been to court to pay the petty amount I owed. I paid my warrant fee and my amount owed that month to CGH to not sit in jail over a MEDICAL BILL until my next court date. So a week later I’m driving and get stopped for California rolling through a stop sign in Dixon. They tell me I have a warrant and need to take me in. Luckily I’m a person of saving documents and told them they were crazy I didn't have a warrant I just paid my fines and bill and was let out of the holding cell for my warrant. They officer did not believe me he thought I was lying. I made him call over to Morrison Courthouse and verify I did not have a warrant that was showing in the computer system still. Luckily it was on a weekday during office hours at the courthouse and the officer about 25 minutes later verified I indeed did not have a warrant. Morrison Courthouse just didn’t/ forgot to update the system. If it weren’t for it being a weekday during office hours, I would have been sitting in jail for something I didn’t need to sit in jail over. Morrison Courthouse is a joke. Whoever didn’t take the warrant out of the system on me deserves to be fired. The office said he’s been a cop for 25 years and has never seen that happen before and was shocked he was letting me go due to a mistake on their part.

I had to come up here for a document after a name change, after unsuccessfully trying to get that document by mail. I arrived right when it opened and was out in 5 minutes. It's worth mentioning that there are no cell phones or electronics allowed in the building, so leave them in the car to save yourself another trip to the parking lot.

They won't let you bring in a bag with all your court papers or cell phone, but then penalize you for not having them. It's ridiculous. They don't communicate with you just give you a hard time. I've been to courthouses is Chicago that were much better than this one.

Great courthouse. There is 2 hour free parking within a few blocks from the courthouse. The staff is friendly, the law library had a lot of books. There are a lot of County buildings within the same few blocks which is easy to navigate. Would appear again.

I was precisely six months late to my court appearance, but the judge was understanding. It was a speeding ticket though so I don't think that they really cared. Anyway, the building itself is gorgeous, it's crawling with cops, and none of the personnel look like they want to be there. I'm only giving it three stars since I'm in love with the architecture.

No longer have faith in our justice system. Will never trust them again. Fool me once...
